BIOGRAPHY

Michelle Lauren Siegel, originally from New York City, received her B.A. in Dance from Hunter College.   She has performed with dance companies such as Leonel Linares Arts Foundation, Sheep Meadow Dance Theatre, Lydia Johnson Dance, Armitage Gone! Dance, Dzul Dance, Neville Dance Theatre, Staten Island Ballet, and Urban Dance Collective with works by Niles Ford, Nathan Trice.  She has also worked with choreographer Pascal Rekoert as a dancer/model for the BERENIK fashion line.  

 

Michelle has taught master classes and performed at the OPEN LOOK Contemporary Dance Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia. She worked as an adjunct professor of dance at Touro College and a substitute professor of dance at Hofstra University.  She was a rehearsal director and coach for Janice Rosario for the Ailey School Professional Division and her assistant teacher for the Ailey/Fordham BFA students.

 

Michelle's choreography and performance from a collaboration with Hayes Brothers Films was nominated for "Best Dance" in the Canadian International Fashion Film Festival in 2022.  Additionally, she has choreographed and performed with Latin Grammy-nominated music artists Lola Flores and Anaís, and renowned Haitian band, Carimi. Michelle’s work has been presented by Leonel Linares Arts Foundation, Neville Dance Theatre, The Umbrella Dance Company, Performing Arts Educators, Balasole Dance Company, NY1 Television, Dance Collage, The Queensborough Dance Festival, The Queens Choreographers' Showcase, Elevation Dance Project, and P.S. 196 Theater Arts Program including productions of Grease! and The Little Mermaid. She has presented several evenings of work at Queens Theatre and works at Lincoln Center Avery Fisher Hall, The Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, The United Palace Theater, University Settlement Speyer Hall, The Secret Theater, Queensborough Performing Arts Center, Webster Hall, the Bowery Ballroom, the Highline Ballroom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Michelle is also the founder and executive artistic director of MOVE. MAKE. BLOOM., the premier dance space for dedicated adults to train, perform, and thrive again.
